Happy Monday Everyone!

Back in April of this year, I challenged myself to run every single day in preparation for a 5k.

For about a month and a half, I ran one mile every day until about a month ago I bumped it up to two.

And no matter how impressive you think it is, I have to be honest with you.

I absolutely hate running.

I hate it with a passion.

I've never been big on cardio, and once you mix that with the humid Florida air, you get a habit that's basically torture.

You're probably wondering, "If you hate it so much then why do you keep doing it?"

Well that's my reason exactly.

It's because I hate it is the reason I keep doing it.

And this might remind you of my last newsletter where I talked about mastering cold showers. But it's such an important topic I wanted to hit you with it one more time.

The main lesson here is that you're supposed to hate it.

You're supposed to hate waking up for the gym. You're supposed to hate staying up late to write that paper. You're supposed to hate doing anything that makes you uncomfortable.

Because nobody likes to step out of their comfort zone.

And once you realize that you're not alone, it's that much easier to get past it.

So that's what I think about. I think about how I'm not the only one who hates running, so I keep going because I know there's someone else out there who's pushing themselves just as hard.

Even David Goggins said he hates running during his interview on the Joe Rogan podcast. But that's what makes him so admired. His ability to keep going despite his hatred for doing it.

Remember this next time you begin to feel that resistance. You're not alone. And that you're

supposed

to hate doing it.

It's those that are willing to do it despite not wanting to are the ones that succeed.

And one thing I didn't mention about my daily running habit is that I'm always happy I did it when I finish.

Because you'll never regret doing the work once it's all said and done.

Until next time,

Isaiah Taylor
