Happy Monday Everyone!

I just finished reading

The Third Door

by Alex Banayan, and I have to say it is one of the best books I've read in a while.

To give you a brief overview, Alex was a student in college when he asked himself the question:

How did the worlds most successful people launch their careers?

He scoured the web and read dozens of biographies on some of the most influential people out there, but he couldn't find the answer to the big question...

What did they do differently and how can we do it for ourselves?

It was at this point Alex decided to interview people such as Lady Gaga, Bill Gates, Qi Lu, Larry King, and more. But as a college student, he wasn't sure how he could start or even fund such a journey. This young man quickly found his way onto the hit television show The Price is Right and hacked the game successfully winning him a sailboat which he sold for $16,000. With this money, he traveled around the world interviewing some of the most famous and powerful people out there. And even through the consistent rejection and heartbreak, he still persisted eventually landing him to realize the one similarity between every successful person he had interviewed. They all used The Third Door. There are three doors we can take in our lives. And the best way to think about this is by imagining a nightclub. The First Door is the main entrance that has a line that loops around the entire building. These are the people who settle for "safe jobs" and live with the sole aim to retire at 67. The Second Door is the VIP entrance where millionaires and business owners enter. But the Third Door is the entrance where you have to go down a dark alley and pound on the emergency exit. An entrance where you have to sneak through a window or crawl through an air duct, ultimately an entrance that entails you doing anything to get inside and beating the line out front. This is the Door where your top 0.1% of people go. The founders of some of the most prominent companies out there and the people who want to make a true difference in their lives and those around them.I talk about this because we all have a nightclub we're trying to get into. And most of us are just standing in line waiting to be let in or trying to get past the security guard at the VIP entrance with no luck. But know that there's a Third Door out there waiting for you, you just have to find it. It may take late nights and early mornings, and you may even have to make sacrifices in the process. But ultimately you can find a way in. Be resourceful, and live your life creating your own category of one with the sole aim to become one of the greats.

Until next time,
