I can't be the only one who sees this...
Overweight fitness trainers.
Real Estate Agents selling courses even though they've only sold one home in two years.
Motivational speakers who still live in their parent's basement.
There are so many "gurus" out there that don't follow their own advice. And it's probably because it makes them feel like they're accomplishing something while still being able to stay in their comfort zone.
And it's so easy nowadays to fake success or make it seem like you have all the answers when you can simply hide behind a screen.
But I'm not telling you this to warn you, I'm telling you this because you're guilty of it too.
Hell, I'm guilty of it.
When was the last time you gave someone advice and didn't follow it yourself? Or at the least didn't stick with it?
It happens more often than you'd like to admit.
And I'm not trying to bash you or call you out, but we all have moments where you pass around advice to only turn around and do the complete opposite.
I've told friends how to build a business when I've barely built one myself.
I've told family members how to live an anxious-free life when I still find myself getting anxious at times.
But that doesn't make you a bad person.
You just gotta start listening to yourself more. In other words, give yourself some credit.
Because sometimes the greatest teacher is in the mirror looking right back at you.
No one else knows what you're going through. No one else knows what you're thinking about. You're the only one who knows what's right for you.
So follow your own advice.
And I'm not saying you're going to be right 100% of the time, but you'll at least get a lot farther than where you are now.
Don't be like those gurus flashing their fake Rolex's and photoshopped Stripe accounts. Follow what you know will work and get what's yours.
And remember that quote I shared with you earlier?
That was by the Stoic philosopher and Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Crazy how something from 2,000 years ago still applies today.
So stop telling others what they should be doing, and look in the mirror for a change.
David Goggins said a mirror was one of his greatest motivators because it allowed him to see the man who he didn't want to be anymore.
Learn from the beast himself and get to work.
Stay hard,
Isaiah Taylor
