3-Minute Mastery: If You Had To Read One More Book This Year—Let It Be This
Issue No. 152 | November 24th, 2025
With only five more weeks left in 2025, I’d say you have just enough time to read one more book—unless you’re already reading one that is.
With the holidays coming up and finals around the corner (for my student audience), I know it can be difficult to find the time to sit down and read uninterrupted. Trust me, I know. Hence why my book recommendation for you isn’t a long one.
Actually, it’s only 96 pages.
The Dip by Seth Godin is a book about how anything you do in life revolves around this thing called the dip.
For example, have you ever noticed whenever you first started working on something, that you start off guns blazing and engines revving, to only lose your momentum and eventually wash out? Or maybe you pushed past that and eventually it got easier?
That period of resistance is the dip. It’s something everyone experiences whenever they’re doing something worthwhile.

But with anything in life, it’s only temporary. If you’re willing to push past the adversity, you’re going to get through to the other side where things begin to get a lot easier.
The only thing that Seth Godin makes note of is that there’s not an exact timeframe as to how long the dip lasts. It could be days, months, years, or even decades. Depending on what you’re doing, the dip conforms to you. But that doesn’t mean it’s never-ending.
Knowing that tough times lie ahead is the key to walking into them with the confidence that you’ll succeed.
So if you’re struggling with something right now, whether it’s finding a new career, going through school, starting a business or writing a book, try giving this a read before the year is up. It might just be the very book you need to start your new years resolution off right.
Until next time,
Isaiah Taylor
